About this centre
Our Norwich Assessment Centre is located in Baltic House on Mountergate. The assessment centre is accessible by bus and there is limited car parking close by – please see the car parking section for further details. The main entrance will be clearly signposted with an Assessment Centre sign.
Assessments carried out at this centre:
- Work Capability Assessments for people claiming Universal Credit (UC) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Other assessments for people claiming Specialist Benefits including Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) or Veterans UK
Travelling by bus or coach
Norwich Bus Station is off Surrey Street, about a 15 minute walk from the assessment centre. Leaving the bus station on Surrey Street turn right and head east to the traffic light junction. Turn left at the traffic lights onto All Saints Green. Continue on All Saints Green and then onto Golden Ball Street. Continue onto Cattle Market Street then slight right onto Market Avenue. Turn right onto King Street and then left onto Mountergate.

Travelling by train
Norwich Train Station, served by East Midlands and Albelio Greater Anglia trains is at the corner of Riverside A147 and Thorpe Road A1242, approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the assessment centre.

Travelling by car
Main routes into Norwich include A11, A47, A140, A146 and A1151; the A47 ring road then circles the city centre. Norwich Baltic House is East of the city centre.

Car parking
There is an NCP multi-storey carpark on the corner of Rose Lane and Mountergate, which has spaces for blue badge holders.
