About this centre

Our Wandsworth Assessment Centre is located at Hardwicks Square. The assessment centre is accessible by bus and there is NCP car parking close by – please see the car parking section for further details. The main entrance will be clearly signposted with an Assessment Centre sign.

Assessments carried out at this centre:

  • Work Capability Assessments for people claiming Universal Credit (UC) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Other assessments for people claiming Specialist Benefits including Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) or Veterans UK

Travelling by bus or coach

Bus routes 37, 170, 220, 270, 337 and 485 stop closest to the Assessment Centre in Wandsworth High St (A3). Alight at the Wandsworth Police Station bus stop (westbound) or the Merton Rd stop (eastbound).

For bus routes 39 and 156, alight at the Wandsworth / Southside stop in Buckhold Rd (A218).

Travelling by train

From Wandsworth Town Station: The Assessment Centre is half a mile from Wandsworth Town station, served by South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Richmond, Hounslow or Shepperton. Leave the station, turn right and follow the signs to the Town Centre.

From East Putney station: The Assessment Centre is less than a mile from East Putney Station. Take the Wimbledon branch of the District line, turn right when exiting the station. At the traffic lights, continue into West Hill then turn right into Dutch Yard (between Bamboo Wellness and Fitness Superstore). The assessment centre entrance is to the right of the entrance to Wandsworth Jobcentre.

West Hill / Wandsworth High Street (A3) is a priority red route where parking is not permitted.

The nearest car parks are located next to the Wandsworth Southside Shopping Centre – the closest is the NCP Southside 2 car park in Neville Gill Close [postcode SW18 4BS], which includes five bays for blue badge holders.

There is also the NCP Southside 1 car park in Mapleton Crescent [postcode SW18 4AU], which includes forty-three bays for blue badge holders.
